Farmerline is excited to announce that Darli AI, its innovative, AI-powered regenerative farming mentor has been named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2024.

This recognition highlights Darli AI’s unique ability to empower small-scale farmers globally by bridging
language gaps and offering sustainable agricultural solutions in their local languages.

Darli AI allows farmers in countries like Kenya, Ghana, and others across Africa, Asia, and South
America to interact directly in over 27 languages—including Twi, Swahili, and Yoruba.

Through both WhatsApp chatbots and a conversational IVR system for low-resource languages, farmers can simply call or text to engage with Darli AI.

There are currently 1 million listeners to the Darli Helpline that are being onboarded onto the service, enabling them to receive real-time advice on everything from fertilizer and crop rotation to market access.

Darli AI has three core functions:

  1. Teaching Regenerative Farming Practices: Darli empowers farmers with methods that
enhance yields while protecting the environment.
  2. Tracking Knowledge Transfer: This unique capability ensures that farmers are not only
receiving but effectively applying key insights.
  3. Monitoring and Measuring Impact: By capturing data on yield improvements and carbon
sequestering, Darli AI assesses the real-world impact of sustainable farming practices.

Co-founder and CEO Alloysius Attah explains, “There are millions of farmers in rural areas that speak
languages not often supported by global tech companies.

"Darli is democratising access to regenerative farming, supporting farmers in their local languages, and ensuring lasting impact on the ground.”

TIME revealed its annual list of the Best Inventions on October 30th, which features 200 extraordinary
innovations changing our lives.

To compile this year's list, TIME solicited nominations from TIME editors and correspondents around
the world, and through an online application process, paid special attention to growing fields—such
as health care, AI, and green energy.

TIME then evaluated each contender on several key factors, including originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact.

Of the new list, TIME’s editors wrote; “The result is a list of 200 groundbreaking inventions (and 50
special mention inventions)—including the world's largest computer chip, a humanoid robot joining
the workforce, and a bioluminescent houseplant—that are changing how we live, work, play, and think
about what’s possible.”
