A magistrate's court at Nkwanta in the Volta Region, has remanded Mboliuge Tadju, a 32-year-old farmer, for raping a 19-year-old senior high school girl.
His plea was not taken and his docket has been forwarded to the Attorney General's Department for advice.
Police Inspector Hayford Asempa told the court that on April 4, this year at about 1900 hours, Tadju offered to transport the victim who was stranded at Damanko on his motorbike to Nkwanta.
Prosecution said the victim obliged to the suspect's offer and provided fuel for the motorbike.
Inspector Asempa said about few kilometres from Sibi near Nkwanta, Tadju rode into the bush and forcibly had sex with the woman after which they continued the journey but the suspect abandoned the victim at a place near Kpassa and bolted.
