I was deeply saddened by the news of the sudden passing away of His Excellency John Evans Atta-Mills. I join with the nation in offering my deepest sympathy to his family, especially his wife and our mother Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills and to the National Democratic Congress Party. The people of Ghana have truly lost a great son of the soil.
It is indeed sad that a man admired and appreciated by so many, who had so much to teach us the Youth had to die so soon. Death is indeed wicked!
Professor John Evans Atta-Mills was a man of honor who would be remembered as a President who always echoed the need for Peace in our country. The Youth of Ghana and Africa have indeed lost a great role model whose name would never fade. It is our hope as future leaders of this great country, that we will be able, in words and deeds, follow in his footsteps by continually advocating for Peace in Ghana, West Africa, Africa and the world at large.
Ghana has lost a great Daddy, Leader & President; Africa has lost a Peace Ambassador; ECOWAS has lost an Influential Partner and the world has lost a Great Man.
Let us all put aside our party colors and come together and mourn our Daddy. He will be greatly missed by the people of Ghana.
Asomdweehene! You were a blessing to Ghana and you will continue to live in our hearts.
Da mrifa due! Da mrifa due! Da mrifa due!
May your gentle soul find perfect peace in the bosom of the Lord.
Fare thee well, H.E. Pro. John Evans Atta-Mills.
