Ghanaian football Fans have descended heavily on Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari for absenting himself for the Ghana-Mali joint 2010 qualifier which will be played on Sunday.
The 24-year-old sent a medical report to the Black Stars management committee stating his inability to feature in the crucial qualifier.
But fans believe his excuse is implausible and a deliberate attempt to ruin Ghana's world cup qualification campaign.
Muntari dropped hint of ending his international future after his girl-friend had a scuffle with a policeman during the Benin game in March this year at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Fans vented their spleen on all radio phone-in sports programmes in Accra questioning his commitment to the national course.
Some fans also lambasted his mother who once granted an interview with a local radio station and said:" No Muntari, no Black Stars."
The former Liberty Professionals player hogged the headlines after playing for Ghana at the Fifa Youth Championship in 2001.
