As Ghana and its West African neighbours wait on end for gas to come from Nigeria, experts are suggesting that perhaps the same pipeline could be used to supply gas from Ghana to countries in the sub region when production begins.
The West Africa gas pipeline is said to be ready to transport gas to countries in West Africa, except attacks on oilfields and pipes in Nigeria have made it impossible.
But even as officials of the pipeline company try to negotiate a free flow of gas, experts believe the country should consider supplying Togo and Benin with gas that will be produced from the Cape Three Points and in the process earn some foreign exchange.
They suggest the construction of a pipeline from the Western region where the gas processing will take place to connect the West Africa Gas Pipeline.
Ghana has also ready chosen a consortium led by Oando to process its gas.
