Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, Ashanti Regional Minister has called on the Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) to expand and network their operations.
He said this would help to facilitate smooth operations in the transport sector, which would also go to reduce the crime wave in the system.
Mr Owusu-Ansah was welcoming the Chief Executive and other administrators of the DVLA at his office in Kumasi on Wednesday.
The Regional Minister observed that the Authority having been able to solve some of their internal and financial problems and had increased its revenue by 40 per cent, it behoved them to team up and help to fill all the loopholes in the testing and licensing.
He commended the Chief Executive and his staff for the good work they were doing to bring sanity into the system and hoped that they would continue to do more to win the confidence of the public.
Mr Joe Osei-Wusu, the Chief Executive Officer had earlier told the Minister that their visit was part of the policy of DVLA to tour areas where they operate, interact with staff on their activities and project the way forward.
He said they were touring their various offices in the region and they have come to Kumasi where most of the work was centred; observe the problems and see how best to solve them.
He pointed out that the DVLA has opened an operation office at Bekwai in the Amansie East and efforts were also being made to establish offices at Asante-Mampong and Agona.
