Most local and foreign exhibitors at the just ended 11th Golden Jubilee Ghana International Trade and Exhibitions Fair, have expressed their satisfaction at the fair describing it as successful. The management of Ghana Trade Fair Company, organisers of the fair had their infrastructure refurbished to commemorate Ghana's Golden Jubilee anniversary celebration. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Sunday, Mrs Agata Sarpong, Marketing Officer of Ghana Tourist Board (GTB) said the high patronage of the fair had promoted domestic tourism and sustainable management of GTB. She said, "Basically during previous fairs our stands did not have materials such as flyers and video clips to educate investors and individuals interested in newly discovered tourist attractions and sites". Mrs Sarpong noted that this year, GTB had materials and video clips to educate those who thronged their stand on the beautiful landscape at the countryside. She said this enhanced the establishment of business contacts which investors interested in investing in hotels, restaurants and fast food joints in the newly discovered places. "The refurbished infrastructure and security at the fair were reinforced to protect goods of exhibitors," she added. However, she appealed to organisers of fairs in future to grouping all office minded exhibitors at a particular area to assist in transacting business effectively. Mrs Margaret Odubango a Nigerian exhibitor and Marketing Manager of VITAFOAM, Nigeria Plc dealers in foam products said, " She was privileged to participate in the fair and business had been encouraging." "We are happy to participate in this fair, especially during Ghana's Jubilee celebrations and to compete with our competitors to show that VITAFOAM is the best," she added. Mrs Odubango said the fair had been successful and patronage increased on March 6 and 7 the climax of the celebrations. Mr Mahmood Hajili, Commercial Counsellor of Central Union of Rural and Agriculture Co-operative of Iran, said it was their first participation of a fair in Ghana and were impressed with the organisation and patronage. Mr Hajili said, "Ghanaians are impressed and embraced Iranian agricultural products. We have not regretted in participating in the fair." Mr Emmanuel K. K. Mensah, Head of Public Relations Department of Forest Service Division (FSD) said their participation in the fair had been encouraging. Mr Mensah noted that, his impression about the is, intellectuals who visited the fair appreciated the fact that the fair is not only for those to do only business but a place for people to be educated about the forestry commission, its aims and objectives.
