Both teams failed to score in the first half of the game but it was Elfsborg who looked more threatening.
After the return from recess, Baidoo got his side running in the 68th minute scoring the opening goal of the fixture.
His goal was his fifth goal involvement in the qualifiers having already scored twice and provided two assists in previous games.
Ahmed Qasem wrapped up the win in the 83rd minute to ensure Elfsborg progressed to the playoff round where they will face Molde.
Michael Baidoo has been strongly linked with a move away from Elfsborg this summer having arrived at the club in January 2022.
