The Ghanaian contingent in the English Premier League received mixed results on matchday four as three draws and a loss were recorded in their fixtures with only Jeffery Schlupp completing ninety minutes of action.
The headline story was at Stamford Bridge where Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace handed Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea only their second leagaue defeat at Stamford Bridge in 100 games.
Interest was high as Ghanaian full back Baba Rahman was named on the Chelsea bench with a hope of making his debut but remained on the bench for the duration of the game as Malian attacking midfielder Bakary Sako and Congo’s Yonnick Bolaise run the Chelsea rugged.
It was all square at Dean’s Court where Christian Atsu’s Bournemouth entertained Jeffrey Schlupp’s Leicester City. Atsu was not named in the match squad despite featuring for his club in the Capital One Cup in midweek.
Schlupp on the other hand lasted the whole duration of the game as he his side fought to get a late equalizer after Calum Wilson had put Bournermouth infront.
At the Villa Park, Jordan Ayew was an unused substitute as his Villa side were held to a 2-2 draw by Sunderland. Jordan watched on as fellow attacker Scott Sinclair continued his fine for by bagging a brace.
The last Ghanaian to feature this weekend will be Swansea’s Dede Ayew as they host Manchester United at the Liberty Stadim in this afternoon’s 3pm fixture.
