Gavivina Tamakloe had so much to say on his life as an actor which includes the negative and positive aspect of film making when ghanaianmovie.com/flex news paper chanced on him on location at Fiesta Royale Hotel Dzorwulu over the weekend.
“I have acted in over fifty movies and till date I am still doing what I love best, in fact my passion which is acting [laughed].” He said.
Having studied drama and theatre arts and English at the University of Ghana Legon and the University Of Oslo, Norway respectively. Mr Tamakloe hails from Wuti, Keta District in the Volta Region.
According to him he started as a stage performer which dates back to 1986.
“Stage acting is the bedrock of film making, I joined the Theatre group company called the Talents theatre company which was partially owned by National Mobilization Program, headed by Mr Kofi Portorphi. Through this I acted with the likes of Anima Missa [KSM’s sister], Kofi Dovlo, David Dontoh and many others who understood the rudiments of stage acting.”
When asked if film making has made him rich, Gavivina pointed out some sentimental issues that could well be described as a caution note to wannabe actors and actresses.
His said “’Rich’, it has even made me poorer, Why am I saying that? I spend more money on location than what I am being paid and working with some producers will surely hinder your progress.”
