E’mPraise Incorporated during the 2021 edition of its flagship event 'Absolute Worship', dubbed 'The Communion Experience', honoured a living legend of gospel music, Samuel Kofi Ampiah, as a recipient of the Psalmist Award.
The Psalmist Award is an accolade through which E’mPraise Incorporated yearly honours individuals whose contribution to gospel music in Ghana has been outstanding, and who have created a huge impact with regard to the songs that are sung in our various churches and music events.
Previous recipients of the award include Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, Deaconess Eunice Johnson and Pastor Shadrack Yawson amongst others.
Eld. Samuel Kofi Ampiah, the recipient of this year’s award is a nonagenarian and a staunch member of the Apostolic Church Ghana. As a musician, Eld. S. K. Ampiah has composed over 280 songs, the majority of which have become an integral part of our church services and music events.
As a member of the church, he served in many capacities and held the position of Music Director of the Apostolic Church Ghana.
In a brief and yet inspiring segment of the event, E’mPraise Incorporated presented a citation along with a token (cash) to Eld. S.K. Ampiah, a moment that drew a well-deserved standing ovation from the congregants at Absolute Worship 2021.
