Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and the Flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, has welcomed Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, former President of Nigeria, to the Jubilee House, Accra, for a dialogue on ensuring peaceful elections on December 7.
The former Nigerian President is leading a delegation of the West African Elders Forum (WAEF), to hold discussions with key stakeholders of the upcoming elections in Ghana.
The Forum works on the promotion of democracy, peace and security in the Sub-region.
It has already held discussions with former President John Dramani Mahama, who is the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress for the December 7 Election.
President Jonathan’s delegation also included H.E. Kadre Desire Quadraago, former President of the ECOWAS Commission.
The Forum is in Ghana on a pre-election mission, and its discussion centered on ensuring a peaceful election processes.
It is expected to hold talks with the country’s election management body, the Electoral Commission.
