The Member of Parliament for Ejura Sekyeredumase Constituency, Bawa Braimah, has called for an autopsy to be conducted on the body of a resident who allegedly died in police custody, sparking widespread outrage and protests in the community.
The deceased, Masawudu, popularly known as Cantona, was arrested on suspicion of purchasing a stolen phone and was taken to the Ejura Police Station for questioning.
However, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital, with his family and friends accusing the police of brutally beating him to death.

Speaking to JoyNews, the MP for the area described the incident as unfortunate and called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the suspect.
The MP's call for an autopsy has been supported by the family of the deceased, who have been demanding answers from the police.
"We want to know what happened to our son, We want to know if he was beaten to death or if he died from natural causes. We deserve to know the truth," said a relative.
The Ghana Police Service has promised to investigate the incident and to cooperate in the autopsy process.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and protests in Ejura. Some aggrieved residents set the local police station ablaze in protest.
As the investigation into Cantona's death continues, the people of Ejura remain on the edge, demanding justice and answers from the authorities.
