Madam Augustina Aboagye, Director of Education for Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District has advised parents and guardians to put a stop to the practice of engaging school children on farms and petty trading during school hours to enable them to take their lessons very seriously to become useful citizens. She gave the advice at Otoase near Coaltar after receiving 16 boxes of notebooks, exercise books, pens all valued at about 10 million cedis from Jesse D, Dompreh of New Mexico who represented Nlinks Inc Aibuguerque chapter, a Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) in Ghana. Madam Aboagye said the books are the tools for the children and therefore they should make good use of them instead of absenting them sellers from classes to farm and roaming about trading. Ohemaa Agnes Amoah of Otoase Amanfro and Samuel Kwadjo Aboagye who presented the books on behalf of Mr Dompreh the Ghana representative of the NGO, said the items were the Organisation's free donation towards education development in the area. They said soon the NGO has decided to send computers and even give scholarship to three brilliant school children to America for further studies and also assist to construct more educational structures for the school. Emmanuel Watson Ayi, Headteacher of the school commended the NGO for their kind gesture and said the items would be put to good use. Source: GNA
