Rapper Edem, formally known as Ayigbe Edem has postponed the much anticipated launch of his second album, Mass Production.
The artiste earlier disclosed to Myjoyonline.com that he will be launching the album on October 29 at Accra Mall car park.
But now he says the launch has been postponed indefinitely explaining the postponement has been necessitated by a clash in the dates of the album launch and the Ghana Music and Food Festival scheduled to come off at the International Trade Fair Centre from October 28, 29 to 30 where he has been billed to perform.
According to Edem, “I am performing that day at the Music and Food Festival so I have decided to sacrifice my album launch for the event,” which the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), of which he is an active member, has thrown its weight behind.
He explained that the decision to postpone the launch was a difficult one which he and his management had to take adding, “it was either I forfeit my album launch to perform at the food festival or not to perform at the event and launch my album.”
The rapper, born Edem Agbeviadey however assured that, “the album launch will definitely be coming on,” appealing to his fans to come to the Music and Food Festival to watch him perform new songs from the album.
Edem said a new date for the album launch will be announced at a press conference to be called soon.
The 10-track Mass Production already has two well-received tunes Too Much and Legacy which are currently receiving a lot of airplay on radio and at night clubs. The album features Joey B, Tinny, Bertha, Trigmatic and Germini who are among artistes who have also signed their signatures in songs on the album.
The album launch was also supposed to witness a record-setting music video shoot, live at the venue would feature all his fans who would turn up for the album launch. Edem is hoping to record the highest number of people in a music video in Ghana.
