Ecobank Ghana (37.21%), Access (9.68%), BOPP (6.98%) and Asante Gold (0.11%) were the top price gainers on the Ghana Stock Exchange in October 2023.
On the Equities market, the GSE Composite Index recorded a 1.47% dip compared to the previous month and a year-to-date return of 27.89%.
The GSE Financial Stock Index also continued to improve, climbing 89.3 points in the month, to record a year-to-date loss of 3.56%.
Both volume and value traded both fell by 79.42% and 77.98% respectively compared to the previous month.
The Ghana Fixed Income Market (GFIM) saw trading volumes hit 9.67 billion, up 29.68% from the previous month’s volumes.
Trades in long-term government securities accounted for 41.43% of market activity, double the 20% achieved in the previous month, and a likely indication of growing investor interest in long-term government securities.
In terms of year-on-year comparison, volume and value traded were 11,869,147 and ¢18.960 million respectively, both down 44.39% and 87.34% compared to the same period last year.
