The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has apologised to customers in the Eastern Corridor following a total blackout on the evening of Saturday, September 21, 2024.
In a statement, NEDCo explained that the outage was caused by a burnt underground cable, which has complicated efforts to restore power quickly.
The company assured customers that their technical team is working hard to resolve the issue.
The blackout has left the entire Eastern Corridor without electricity, disrupting daily life and economic activities in the region.
NEDCo appealed to the public for patience as they continue to work on fixing the problem.
While the company acknowledged the inconvenience caused, no specific timeline was given for when power would be fully restored.
