Two people are assisting the Hohoe Divisional Police investigating the death of a 43 year-old cabbie, who was found dead on the rear passenger floor of a taxicab with a foaming mouth.
Mr Anthony Shelley Darkey, Hohoe District Crime Officer told the GNA that the deceased, Augustus Borke, through an intermediary, pleaded with the owner of the Volvo taxicab with registration number GR 1620 Q to allow him to use the car for taxi service on an approaching market day.
Mr Darkey said the owner of the cab agreed that the deceased could use the car on Thursday because the original driver would not be available.
Mr Darkey said Borke took the car at 0700 hours on the agreed date for the day's business but never returned until his body was discovered in the vehicle, which was packed some two kilometres from Likpe Kukurantumi in the Hohoe district.
He said there was no mark of violence on the body, which was later deposited at the Hohoe District Hospital morgue for autopsy.
