The Very Reverend Thomas Forson, Minister in-charge of the Calvary Methodists Church has urged politicians to take the word of God seriously because it is a walking tool that could lead them to success.
He said prayers were commandment from God and as such any one who failed to abide by this principle was likely to have problems.
The Very Rev. Forson was delivering a sermon at a thanks-giving service on theme: "Ask and it shall be given", in Accra as part of activities marking the 15th anniversary celebrations of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Top NPP members who attended included Mr Peter Mac Menu, National Chairman of the Party, Mrs Agnes Okudjeto, First Vice Chairperson, Madam Ama Ayeh, alias 'Daavi Ama', Treasurer, Mr Lord Oblitey Commey, National Organizer and Ms Rita Asorbayer, National Women Organiser.
Also in attendance were Mr Kwadwo Baah Wiredu, Minister of Finance, Mrs Gladys Asmah, Minister of Fisheries, Papa Owusu Ankomah, outgoing Minister Education, Youth and Sports, Prof. Mike Ocquaye, outgoing Minister of Communication, Mr Allan Kyeremanten, outgoing Minister of Trade, Industry and President Special Initiative.
The Very Rev Forson called on politicians to show good leadership and lead exemplary lives so that the youth emulate them.
He urged the NPP leadership to use the occasion to reflect on the past and present achievements. "As we celebrate the 15 years, let us look back with thanks-giving because God has done a lot for us," he added.

In his speech, Mr Mac Manu said the NPP believed in God. "As we celebrate our 15 years, it is our hope to come and thank God for what he has done for us," he added.
He thanked Ghanaians for their support and faith in the Party over the years.
