J.Garcia Carrion, manufacturers of Don Simon fruit drinks have donated 300 cartons of their products to the Ridge Hospital as its contribution towards the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Marco Polo, an official from the company is optimistic the country will come out of the pandemic stronger.

“We are all going to come out victorious after this fight against the virus and our contribution represents our widow’s mite that we are undertaking for the Ridge Hospital as well as other institutions in the country,” he said.

Presenting the items to officials from the Ridge Hospital, Isaac Sampah, who represented the company, maintained that the gesture signifies the company’s corporate social responsibility as regards assisting those in the frontline work.

On his part, the Medical Director for Ridge Hospital, Dr. Emmanuel Srofenyoh, expressed his excitement about the donation and urged other corporate institutions to emulate the move.

“This is a wonderful gesture, for those on the frontline they need to be well nourished, so when you come to donate things like this, it will go a long way to motivate them.”

He also urged Ghanaians to follow the established social protocols to the letter since it will reduce the risk of contracting the disease.

Don Simon, has been operating in Ghana for over 35 years and it joins several corporate bodies to contribute towards the fight against the epidemic.

Ghana’s total confirmed cases as at Tuesday stood at 636 with 8 people dead and 17 that have been treated, reverted to negative on repeat tests and discharged.
