Ghana Black Stars attacker Andre Ayew could be on the move in January from France but his destination may not be Arsenal in the English Premiership as widely speculated.
Recent reports by English and Italian media seem to suggest that Milan and not London could be the city of choice if the price is right for the rising star.
With plenty of cash to spend, Inter Milan may consider a move for the son of Ghana football legend Abedi 'Pele' Ayew.
According to the widely circulated London Metro newspaper, the Italian giants reportedly had the Ghanaian watched during the recent Champions League clash between the Ligue 1 side and Arsenal, and are rumoured to be considering a January bid.
Arsene Wenger is also a known admirer of the 21-year-old, and may see the attacker as the ideal cover for Gervinho and Theo Walcott, who seem to have no real competition for their places due to the poor form of Andrei Arshavin.
The lively Ghanaian international was in supreme form with two fine goals over the weeekend in France but he could easily have grabbed a hat-trick against newly promoted Ajacio had he not missed a penalty.
Ayew has always stated his loyalty and commitment to Marseille but at the same time expressed his admiration for the Londoners.
‘I’m in Marseille, it is already big for me,’ Ayew told L’Equipe. ‘.....but there is everything [at Arsenal].
"The stadium, the players, the training ground, the budget and the image of the club that makes a lot of players dream.’
It remains to be seen whether or not Arsene Wenger will be willing to close a move in January to curtail potential rival bids including the latest reported $19.8 million from Inter.
