Management committee member of the blacks stars,Winfred osei Palmer has called on the Football Association to set a target for the new Black Stars coach as the search for a new coach intensified.
The outspoken president of Tema Youth Football Club threw light on the factors to consider before appointing a new coach for the national team.
In his view, the next coach should make a good account of himself in the remaining World Cup qualifiers as the well as win the inevitable, which is the African Cup of Nations/
“Ghana needs to give a fair competition at the ongoing world cup qualifiers to make sure we either close the gap or we qualify for the 2018 world cup.
And until the results between Egypt and Uganda is known, it is not over for Ghana.
"The World Cup qualifiers should be the milestone set for the coming coach, there’s also African Cup of Nations 2019 qualifier about to kick start which should also be a headache for the new coach.
"Is he capable of qualifying the team and able to win the African Cup of Nations for the country?
“The trophy is what we need the most, there should be no excuse for the coach to just and go and participate, we need a coach capable of qualifying and to quench Ghanaians thirst of the African Cup and it bores down to competence.”
