Mr. Mawutor Goh, Ho Municipal Chief Executive has called on traditional leaders in the Municipality to unite and direct their efforts towards the development of the area. He said the government has put in place several interventions to support communities that undertook self-help projects to improve their living standards. Mr. Goh made the call at a durbar of chiefs of the peoples of Klefe, Klikor, Kpeve, Tsorhor, and Tsibu-Kleviofe to mark the celebration of Zendo Glimetsoza under the theme: "Coming Together For Development ". According to history, the five communities celebrate the festival to remember the togetherness of their ancestors who lived in Notsie in Togo under the tyranny of King Agorkoli as one entity before the exodus of Ewes from his kingdom. The Municipal Chief Executive urged the chiefs and people to take stock of their achievements and build on them. He urged the people, who are predominantly farmers to organise themselves into groups to enable them to access loans from the Micro Finance Small Scale Loans Centre (MASLOC) to expand their farming business to reduce poverty. Mr. Goh said the government was leaving no stone unturned to develop the rural communities, adding that, the new classroom blocks and health facilities would be constructed to ease education and health problems facing the rural communities. He said several feeder roads in the communities would be rehabilitated to facilitate the easy movement of farm produce to the buying centres. Mr. Goh, asked the people to take advantage of the capitation grant and the school feeding programme to send the children to school. Earlier, Togbe Adzadi Akpaku III, Chief of Tsibu traditional area called on the government to carve Tsibu from the Ho Municipal Assembly which is about 49 kilometres away to join the newly created South Dayi district which is about six kilometres away from the traditional area to accelerate the development of the area. He called for the opening of a Vocational Institute, the provision of nurses to man the Health Centre and the provision of a police station in the area. Meanwhile the Chiefs and people of Kpalime traditional area have also celebrated their 11th Kpalikpakpa festival at Todome Kpalime in the South Dayi district. The people of the traditional area escaped to their present location when they could no longer tolerate the tyranny of King Agorkoli in Notsie. Addressing the Chiefs and people at a durbar to mark the climax of the festival, Mrs. Woyram Boachie-Danquah, South Dayi District Chief Executive urged the people to use the festival as a tool for development in the district. She called on the people to shun laziness and unnecessary squabbles, adding that with peaceful co-existence there will be accelerated development in the area. Mrs. Boachie-Danquah assured the people that a number of feeder roads and classroom blocks would be constructed in the district and asked them to embrace the new education reform programme. "Send your children to school to enable them enjoy the capitation grant and the school feeding programme; they are our future leaders; give them good foundation to enable them to assist you when you are aged ". She commended Mr. Silas Yuiah and others who have donated computers to the Kpalime Wegbe E.P. Schools. Togbui Agbi Yao III, Fiaga of Kpalime Traditional area called on the government to establish a Community senior secondary school in the area.
