The outgoing National of the Convention People's Party (CPP) on behalf of the entire membership of the party has sent a congratulatory message to Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom on his election as the CPP Presidential Candidate for the 2008 election.
Similar messages were also sent to Mr. Ladi Nylander, National Chairman and Leader of the party and other national officers elected at the National Congress in Kumasi.
A statement signed by Dr Nii Noi Duwuona, out-going General Secretary commended all the candidates who did not win their respective posts but had contributed to the transformation of the party.
It said the three-day event demonstrated the resilience and commitment of the rank and file of the party who attended the congress.
The statement said the Central Committee of the party would convene in early January to formally hand over to the new officers and the Central Committee as currently composed would be dissolved to enable the newly constituted body begin its constitutional duties.
