A Begoro District Magistrate’s Court has sentenced Kofi Acheampong 20, a porter to 12 months imprisonment on his own plea for attempting to steal and causing damage to property.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector William Kwasi Nkrumah told the court presided over by Mr Owusu Nsiah that on the night of January 16, this year, accused was seen attempting to break into the store of the complainant, Madam Ellen Gyasi a trader to steal.
He said in the process a witness who saw the accused raised the alarm, but he took to his heels and a report was made to the police who arrested the accused and after investigations charged with the offence.
