Great suspense built up among the Ghanaian public, especially customers of Fidelity bank as the Bank rewarded ten lucky customers last week at the forecourt of the new Haatso branch of the Bank. The draw marked the fifth and the last but one draw that will usher customers of the Bank, especially those on board the Go for Gold train, into the grand finale come March 2011.
So far, four breathtaking monthly draws have been held at several branches of the bank including the Spintex branch, Tema Community One branch, Suame branch in Kumasi and the Market Circle branch of Takoradi. The draws, held at different venues have been a great success, pulling mammoth crowds and generating wide interest amongst the Ghanaian public. Prizes winners have taken home include plasma flat screen television set, table top refrigerators, iPods, wax prints, souvenirs from Fidelity Bank and other exciting prizes.
With the prizes getting bigger and better, Thursday’s draw rewarded ten more customers on board the Go for Gold train. A total of ten coupons were picked in Thursday’s draw following which the winners will be rewarded. In attendance will be the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Tawiah, Greater Accra Regional Minster Nii Ashitey Armah and the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Accra Alfred Vanderpuye, Managing Director of Fidelity bank, Mr. Edward Effah, Management of the Bank as well as members of the press.
With an ultimate prize of a 24-carat 1 kilogram bar of gold and other amazing prizes at stake, new customers are required to open an account and maintain a minimum of GHC300 or multiples of it for one month to get a coupon to enter both the monthly and grand draw. Existing customers alike, have to top up their accounts and maintain a minimum of GH300 or multiples of it for one month to qualify for the monthly and grand draws.
The Managing Director of Fidelity Bank has previously said that this innovative campaign is to encourage Ghanaians to bank with Fidelity Bank while providing the opportunity to bank the unbanked population nationwide. According to him, “many Ghanaians still prefer to keep cash in their homes or pockets. Such money is idle and does not contribute much to the growth of the economy. By banking with Fidelity, your money is safer, you earn more interest and you contribute to the growth of the economy of our country”.
The day was also used to officially launch the Haatso branch of Fidelity Bank. In his opening remarks, Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Edward Effah said the opening of a new branch in Haatso is to help improve the lives of the people in the community. The Go for Gold train began in August in Accra and has so far travelled to Tema, Kumasi, Tamale and Takoradi and their environs with Fidelity Ambassadors moving from household to household sharing fliers and providing world class banking services to the Ghanaian public.
The grand draw is slated for next month.
