Members of Ghana's Council of State led by Tumu Kuoro Babini Kanton, representing the Upper West Region, together with three others, has presented a bull and 100 tubers of yam to the inmates of Bole Hospital.
The gesture is aimed at putting smiles on the faces of inmates for the impending Eid ul Fitr celebration in the Bole District of the Savannah Region.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Council, Tumu Kuoro Babini Kanton said the Council from time to time, identifies institutions or entities to which it demonstrates compassion on special occasions.

He said, "this time, the Council has identified the inmates of Bole Hospital to empathise with at the end of the Muslims Month of Ramadan. They will enjoy the Festive occasion on their sick beds," he said.

The delegation also pledged its continuous commitment towards the Hospital in the discharge of its duty so as to ensure a healthy society.

While thanking the Council of State for the gesture, the Medical Director of the Bole Hospital, Dr Alfonsus Nindow, reiterated the urgent need for the Bole Hospital Mortuary to be renovated.
Dr Nindow said, "currently, our mortuary is down completely. This is a very key challenge to the district because, in the region, we have three main Hospitals, here, Damongo and Salaga, and this serves most of the areas."

He also said the mortuary, which has existed since the inception of the Hospital, has been closed down for the past six months.
According to him, it has outlived its usefulness and appealed to the delegation to forward their request to the President for redress.
