The Group General Manager of Alisa Hotels, Yusuf Olela highlighted that the Alisa Hotels group has over the years built for itself a reputable brand within hospitality circles of Ghana and continues to position itself as the business address both at its North Ridge and Tema branches.

He underscored the need for a continuous investment in hospitality to bolster the industry and gain invester interest. Further highlighting on the tourism interventions in the country, he applauded the gains made by the year of return and beyond the return campaigns.

He said since the execution of the two campaigns, the hospitality industry has witnessed significant growth due to the arrivals of tourists into the country, hence the need to provide special consolidated funds that allows people to invest in the sector at a lower rate, and infrastructure development to make the destinations more attractive.

Mr Olela, who was speaking at the launch of a 1,000-seater pavilion at the North Ridge branch of the Alisa Hotel in Accra said despite the strides made in the sector, industry players still experienced high utility cost, power fluctuations, and inflation, a situation which negatively impacts the hotel industry.

“Moving forward, I think what needs to be done is more investment into tourism and destination marketing plus increased incentives to encourage more investors in the industry,” the General Manager said.

On 8th August, 2024, the Group Chairman Mr. Kwame Bamfo with the management team led by the Group General Manager Mr. Yusuf Olela unveiled the Alisa Pavilion. The Pavilion which comprises a partitionable conference center is embedded with modern audiovisual facilities and can accommodate up 1000 delegates. In addition, there are two (2) executive boardrooms for all high profile board meetings.

The Alisa Pavilion also has the Oasis Lounge which is your destination of choice when it comes to enjoying scrumptious delicacies with varied drink options. The lounge offers a choice of an indoor or outdoor dining experience.

The Alisa Hotel Tema Pavilion will soon be opening with a 400 seater capacity.

The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Andrews Egyapa Mercer, said he was impressed by the immense contribution the hotel had made to the country in its 25 years of existence.

“Alisa Hotels ensures that the expectation of guests is exceeded with commendable professionalism and versatile services with consistent upgrade of its facilities,” he said.

The ministry, he said was ready to provide the hotel with the requisite support to ensure that the hotel industry becomes stronger.
