Kumasi Asante Kotoko are scheduled to play Romania’s Liga 1 club, FC Petrolul on September 4 at the Baba Yara Sports Satdium.
The defending league champions say the match will be used as part of activities to mark the club’s 80th anniversary.
Petrolul officials have reached an agreement to fly down their team to Kumasi for the friendly match on September 4 which is a FIFA date for friendly and official matches.
Both Kotoko and Petrolul in a joint press conference at the Golden Tulip Hotel on Wednesday confirmed the friendly match.
“Asante Kotoko have agreed to play Petrolul of Romania in a friendly match on September 4,” Kotoko’s General Manager Opoku Nti said at the press conference.
Both clubs are hoping the friendly match marks the beginning of a mutual beneficial partnership.
