The Black Princesses have been eliminated from the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup despite recording a win in their last group game against New Zealand.
Ghana's fate was already sealed before the game, after Argentina picked up a win on Sunday evening.
A brace from Salamatu Abdulai and another from Tracy Twum handed Yussif Basigi's side a 3-1 win over New Zealand in their last group game of the competition.
Ghana was looking to pick up the last slot available for the four best third-placed teams
However, their progression was dependent on the result of Argentina's game against Costa Rica.
Mexico, Canada and South Korea had picked up four points in third position while Argentina had a point heading into the fixture against Costa Rica.
The South American side scored in the first half and held on to pick up all three points in their last group game to take their tally to four.
The result shattered Ghana's dream of advancing from the group stage for the very first time in seven attempts.
Yussif Basigi's side lost their first two games of the tournament to Austria and Japan before wrapping up their campaign with the win against New Zealand.
The elimination adds to Ghana's failed attempts at the competition since their debut in 2012.
