Alfred Tuah-Yeboah, Deputy AG and some Executives of Bonoman Institute

The Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Alfred Tuah-Yeboah, has called for a collective approach towards the holistic development of the Bono and Bono East Regions.

According to him, a lot more ought to be done to advance key sectors such as Sports, Agriculture, Education, Health and Road networks in the regions.

He insist the advancement of development in these sectors will go a long way to improve the living standard of the residents and therefore appealed to all stakeholders to consciously work towards that.

Mr Tuah-Yeboah made the call when the Executives of Bonoman Institute paid a courtesy call on him and some other prominent Bono natives in Accra.

The visits enabled the executives to outline their vision and the objectives of the Institute to the sons and daughters of the region, especially the documentation of the Bono Twi Language.

The Founder and Executive Director of Affairs of Bonoman Institute, Francis Ansu Gyabaa, said the prime objective of the Institute is to champion the development of the regions and express its determination to positively impact society through its works.

The Mission of Bonoman Institute, according to Ansu Gyabaa, is to be a resource hub that works to enhance the absolute development of the Bono people through documentation, preservation, and promotion of the rich culture, history and heritage.

He also noted that the Institute aims to highlight and enhance the potential of the region to contribute to local, regional, national and global economic development.

Mr Ansu Gyabaa and Atta Akoto Senior, the Executive Director of Operations, led the Executives of the Institute to the visits to, among other things, highlight the socio-economic potentials of the Bono and Bono East Regions.

Some members of parliament (MPs) from the two regions were also visited.

At the Parliament House, Dormaa West MP, Vincent Oppong-Asamoah, expressed delight about the Institute’s commitment to preserving the region's culture and identity and project the Bono Twi Language to serve as a guide and a sense of pride for the new generation since language is the core foundation of every society.

Okofo Darteh, MP for Jaman South, and other MPs from the regions also offered more inputs and guidelines on programmes, activities and advocacies the Institution could successfully implement to benefit the regions.

He, therefore, called on all Bono natives, home and abroad, to endeavour to support the laudable initiative of the Institute to put the Bono Regions on the international scene.

Other notable personalities the executives visited and interacted with include Professor Ameyaw Akumfi (former Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Techiman South), Kofi Okofo Dartey (former Chief Internal Auditor, Director Finance, Corporate Planning, Strategy and former Director Corporate Affairs, GRIDCo, and is also, Dean, Bonoman Institute), Colonel Kwadwo Damoah (former Commissioner of the Customs Division at the Ghana Revenue Authority).
