A circuit court at Goaso in the Brong Ahafo Region, has remanded a 47 year-old cobbler in prison custody for allegedly defiling a 12-year old primary three pupil at Mim in the Asunafo North Municipality.
Kwajo Akwah pleaded guilty and was ordered to reappear on June 23 this year.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Charles Arthur told the court presided by Mr. Charles Quampah that on June 14 this year, the victim was sent by her elder sister to the accused’s shop to mend her slippers.
At the shop, the accused sent the girl to buy him water and when she returned, Akwah invited her into his room and forcibly had sex with her.
Chief Inspector Arthur said after the act, Akwah told the girl not to disclose her ordeal to any one.
Her parents later noticed blood from her genitals and when questioned, she told them that the accused forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.
A report was, therefore, made to the police and Akwah was arrested.
