Former Hearts of Oak coach Charles 'CK' Akonnor has attributed the downward trend of the club to inept management.
The ex-Black Stars captain was of the view that the tenure of the current board and management has been a failure.
Akunnor believes the poor leadership style adopted by the current board and management has been the contributing factor to the team's poor showing.
The former Sekondi Eleven Wise boss was at sea as to what exactly the board and management were up to.
“What have they been doing? They've been there all these years and they talk about recruitment and everything. They are still there and they recruit the so called bad players and all that. What are they doing?” Akunnor told the Joy Sports Track on Monday.
Hearts players are said not to have been paid for more than two months, with other reports saying four.
“This is a failure that they have not paid the players for three months. Even if it is one month, it is a failure. Not on the part of the coach but on the part of the board members and management. It is a failure.”
And what solution does Akunnor propose?
“They should go away for fresh ideas. They should go away for people to bring in new ideas.”
The former Black Star was adamant that coach Herbert Addo is not the problem.
“Yet still [the management] won’t look at [the important issues] but they will look at the coach. It is bad and we continue to do the same mistakes every time.”
“The board members are a failure. They are not doing well.”
Akunnor joins a host of top names in Ghanaian footballing experts to share their views on the current crisis in Hearts of Oak.
