After the exploits of Asokwa Deportivo's Joel Fameyeh for the local Black Stars, many have called for greater emphasis to be placed on the Division One League.
The striker was in impressive form for the second tier outfit, bagging 29 goals in the just ended season, and followed up with a brace for Ghana against Ivory Coast on Sunday.
Head coach of newly promoted Dreams FC, Charles 'CK' Akunnor believes talent abounds in the Division One and more can be done to unearth them.
The former Black Stars captain was of the view pushing the players from Division One into the various national teams will do them a world of good.
“It is also fair to say these division one boys be brought [into the national teams]. It will be fair to take a look at them,” he told the Joy Sports Track on Monday,
“Fameyeh’s exploits have informed us there are a lot of talents in the first division. Yes, take a look at the Premier Division but it will be fair to take a look at the Division One League as well.”
Akunnour led his side to top Zone 3 of the Division One League to ensure that they gained promotion to the Premier Division.
