Christians must spare God with excuses

Christians have been advised to stop the excuses they offer to exempt themselves from doing the will of God. Rev. David Oware, General Overseer of the Bible Hour Ministries Int., said many people are trying to rewrite the scriptures to suit themselves and thereby drifting away from the true messages from God. Preaching the homily to commemorate the inauguration of Judah-Praise Universal Gospel Church at Kaneshie in Accra on Saturday, June 27, 2009, he said: “Excuses have robbed mankind of God`s blessings”. He further warned Christians against rebellious activities against God as that would incur the wrath of God on them. He lamented that in the present generation, pastors who preached about the true gospel have turned enemies to the society and their churches have been avoided by self-styled Christians seeking worldly wealth. “In order to avoid the wrath of God, we should turn away from all ungodliness and unrighteousness… we should acknowledge and recognize God and allow him to control and determine whatever we do.” Rev. Lovejoy Cudjoe, Founder and Head pastor of Judah-Praise Universal Gospel Church criticized pastors using church as cover up to create wealth, instead of winning souls for Christ. He said he was inspired by God to put up the church and would do all he could to propagate God’s salvation to the world. Rev. Cudjoe advised Christians to holdfast the God that they serve because He made everything and everything belongs to Him. “The church has all that the world needs; and needs nothing from the world. The world needs Jesus; but as believers you have all things.” Story by Isaac Essel
