Christian leaders advised

CHRISTIAN leaders have been asked to shun practices such as backbiting, deceit, hypocrisy and adultery and rather lead disciplined, humble and honest lives at all times for the congregations to emulate. The founder and general overseer of Glorious Gospel Church International, Rev. Dr. Abraham Willie Ntarmah, said this during the installation of three pastors and five deacons and deaconesses at the church’s auditorium at Tarkwa last Sunday. He said "priesthood is an office of divine calling, and the men and women called into the ministry are expected to walk in His footsteps by living exemplary lives". He said, the appointment of deacons and deaconesses should not be seen by the church as the formation of a watchdog committee used by the leader against others, but they should be viewed as fellow workers and servants in the Lord’s vineyard. Rev. Dr. Ntarmah charged them to study God’s word diligently, so as to turn the hearts of the wicked and lawless, through their preaching, and teaching. He expressed regret that some pastors or "men of God" used the teachings and doctrines of the Bible to get undue favour and materials to satisfy their selfish ambitions and advised the newly appointed pastors to desist from such practices. They are pastors Anthony Armstrong Mensah, Lewis Ackah and Josephine Ntarmah, all pastors, and Deacons Robert Kofi Enim, Samuel Egyam, Osei Sarpong, S. K. Arthur and Deaconess Rose Nyarko. Times
