President Nana Akufo-Addo has urged the people of the Upper East Region to offer their overwhelming support to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming December general elections.

He stressed that the region's support is crucial to ensuring a resounding victory for the party at the polls.

During his one-day tour of the region on Tuesday, President Akufo-Addo highlighted the importance of the elections and emphasised that Dr Bawumia represents the hopes and aspirations of many Ghanaians.

He noted that the NPP's track record of development and governance should inspire confidence in the party’s ability to continue transforming the country under Bawumia's leadership.

Addressing the Chiefs and elders of the Upper East Region, the President encouraged voters to cast their ballots for the NPP by selecting the number one spot on the ballot paper.

He expressed his belief that Dr Bawumia, being the NPP's flagbearer and a son of the north, would work tirelessly for the region's development if elected as President.

President Akufo-Addo reiterated the government's commitment to bringing development to all parts of the country, including the Upper East Region, where several ongoing projects and initiatives are expected to significantly improve the livelihoods of the people.

He called on the electorate to recognize the efforts made by his administration and give the NPP the mandate to continue its work.

The President urged unity and collective action among the people, stating that their support for the NPP will ensure that the region plays a key role in the nation's progress.

He assured the Chiefs and people of the Upper East Region that the NPP remains committed to addressing their concerns and improving their lives.

“I came here to give you an account of my stewardship, say hello for your support and also to urge you to seriously take into consideration the need for you to choose somebody to step into my shoes who is going to carry on the policies that we have enumerated that have brought relief and progress and development to our country,” he stated.

“…This particular election is the simple one. When you go to the polls on the ballot paper just look at number one, you will see the elephant on number one and you don’t have to go any further," he added.
