Ghanaian musician Chief One has responded to rumours regarding his loss at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards nominees jam and opined his thoughts on his future ambitions.
Speaking with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Chief One acknowledged was not disappointed for losing the 2023 Best New Artiste award to Lasmid, contrary rumours that he was angry.
"No, because he also worked that time. He worked very hard and he got the people too, so no problem.
I didn't say anything serious, I only complained about TGMA, I think 2024, because of Toyota, that's all," he said.
Chief One also explained why he did not file for nomination in 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
"I didn't file. Sometimes, I don't want my fans to lose money anyhow. I think I need to work hard. If it is loud, nobody can say anything," he explained.
Chief One emphasised that he aims to reach a level where his success is undeniable in some major categories like Artiste of the Year or Afrobeats.
“I think I need to work hard. If it is loud, nobody can say anything. I deserve to be there, but I really have to work hard to get to that level”, he asserted.
Chief One's interview with Andy Dosty provided insight into his thoughts on his past experiences and future ambitions.
By setting the record straight on his TGMA loss and sharing his motivations for not filing for the awards this year, Chief One demonstrated his commitment to hard work and his desire for recognition in the music industry.
