The Chief of Staff, Kwadwo Mpiani says all monies allocated to the Ghana-at-50 secretariat for Ghana’s golden jubilee celebrations have been duly accounted for.
Parliament approved an initial 20 million dollars for the Secretariat and approved an additional sum of almost 12 million dollars last week.
The opposition NDC and some members of the public have criticised government saying it has failed to properly account for the expenditure.
But speaking on JOY FM’s current affairs programme, NEWSFILE, Mr Mpiani says the criticisms are baseless.
“I explained it to the Finance Committee when I appeared before them. It was accepted by all of them including NDC members”.
Giving a breakdown of what the monies were expended on, Mr Mpiani says part of the funds was used to construct a new VVIP lounge at the Kotoka International Airport and the over 200 AU houses.
