The Chief Executive of Asona Royal Entertainment, Christabel Adomako Kye, has announced plans to hold a cultural and musical festival at Afrikiko in Accra as part of efforts to promote Ghanaian heritage and culture.
The event dubbed, "Promoting Ghanaian Heritage Through Culture and Music", is set to kick off in September and will be held from 4pm to 8pm every Sunday to Tuesday.
It promises to be a vibrant musical and cultural event that unites people of all ages and gender while celebrating various facets of Ghanaian culture.
It will showcase the diversity and vibrancy of Ghanaian culture through music, dance, theatre, visual arts among others.
There will be live performances by celebrated artistes and cultural music groups, exhibition of traditional crafts, textiles and art, cultural workshops, master classes, and seminars, fashion shows, traditional cuisine and drinks, indigenous technology and science, and a grand durbar of chiefs and cultural leaders.
Madam Adomako Kye says that among other things, guests will enjoy delectable meals and excellent music, adding that attendees would be able to sample Ghanaian cuisine and support local food during the three-day event.
Leading figures in music and culture, as well as a number of local food and drink sellers, will be present at the event.
A few carefully chosen cultural groups and performers have been invited to wow the patrons with a variety of danceable tunes.
According to her, the festival is an opportunity to highlight our distinct history and inspire Ghanaians to value their cultural identity.
She said that traditional dance, music, theater, and art will be included, along with a display of regional foods and drinks.
Patrons will have the unique chance to experience the diversity of Ghanaian culture in one platform.
"We anticipate a diverse audience, including tourists and locals, to attend the festival," she stated.
She however, revealed that regional dishes and beverages will be on display to help patrons relive their favourite cultural experiences in a traditional Ghanaian kitchen.
