The November Medal Open Championship of the Celebrity Golf Club tees off at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday, December 1, 2007.
Mr Akwasi Opoku, Competition Secretary of the Celebrity Golf Club, who announced this at Tema on Monday, said about 120 amateur golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition.
He said the event, even though basically a club affair, invitation has been extended to other golf clubs in the Greater Accra Region.
Mr Opoku said management of the club has put in place adequate preparations to ensure that the competition is keenly contested.
The Sakumono team which would be led by their captain, Joe Ohemeng would include Abdul Aziz-Amankwah, Ailen Conteh and Joe Ampofo.
Mr Kobina Quansah, President of the club is expected to present the trophies to the winners.
The competition tees off at 0600 hours.
