A new judge is likely to be assigned by Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo to preside over the application for confirmation of the seizure and freezing of the property of former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah.
The development became necessary because the judge who has been presiding over the case, Justice Edward Twum, is scheduled to start his vacation.
The High Court Judge had a warrant from the Chief Justice to sit during the legal vacation and is now due for his annual leave.

Prior to this development, the Office of the Special Prosecutor on October 12, petitioned the Chief Justice to recuse Justice Twum from Madam Dapaah's case.
In a Facebook post, the OSP explained that the judge appears to be prejudiced against the institution.
The Office, therefore, requested Gertrude Torkornoo to have him recuse himself or remove him from all its cases pending before him.
The petition caused adjournments of the substantive application as the parties waited for a response from the Chief Justice.
However, the Chief Justice was unable to accede to the request, according to the OSP.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor froze the bank accounts of Madam Cecilia Dapaah and seized some cash sums from the matrimonial home of the former Minister weeks ago but the court is yet to confirm the seizure and freezing of the property.
Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned to November 29, 2023.
