Former captain of the Black Stars Charles Kwablah Akunnor has denied reports in the media that he is in contention for the assistant coach position to Croatian Zdravko Logarusic at Ashanti Gold.
The assistant coach’s position is vacant after Head coach Zdravko Logarusic indicated that he cannot work with former player Kamara Dini as his assistant.
Akunnor in an interview stated that, there have been no talks with Ashgold officials over a possible takeover.“I have not spoken to anybody; all this reports are not true” he told JOY Sports
The Right to Dream Academy coach added that, his only interest now is to coach the national under 17 men’s soccer team.
The 37 year old was handed his first local coaching job at Sekondi Eleven Wise in February 2009 when he took over from Edward Galaga.
