Cameroon manager Paul Le Guen has named star striker Samuel Eto'o in his 23-man squad despite his threat to walk away for the tournament.
Eto'o is unhappy with criticism from Indomitable Lions legend Roger Milla.
The minister of sport hastily arranged a trip to Europe to assure Eto'o of his position as captain and that the team had full government support.
In addition, the 29-year-old has also received backing from the country's football federation.
"Following statements made in the media by some major figures of our football which disturb the serenity of our national team, the Cameroon Football Federation invites the public to remain united around the athletes of the Indomitable Lions," Cameroon Football Federation president Iya Mohammed said.
Also included in the 23-man squad are the uncapped Gaetan Bong and Eric Choupo-Moting, even though the pair have yet to receive Fifa approval to play for Cameroon.
Bong and Choupo-Moting were capped previously at junior level by France and Germany respectively.
FIFA on Friday confirmed receipt of an application from Cameroon to use the players but said the documentation was incomplete.
"We have already started the relevant investigations, however, to this day, the files are not yet complete and therefore we are in contact with the Cameroon Football Federation," a FIFA spokesman said.
"Cases can take different periods of time to review, dependent on the amount of information which is supplied by the respective FA, and how quickly."
German-born Marcel Ndjeng is on stand-by in case Fifa turn down the application of either Bong or Choupo-Moting.
Coton Sport striker Vincent Aboubacar is the only home-based player to make it into the final 23 as Patrick Abouna and Patrick Mevoungou miss out.
Tottenham Hotspur defenders Sebastian Bassong and Benoit Assou Ekotto are included, despite being left out of January's Africa Cup of Nations squad.
French coach Paul Le Guen has found places for veterans Rigobert Song and ex-Chelsea midfielder Geremi Njitap.
Cameroon will play in Group E in South Africa alongside Denmark, Japan and The Netherlands.
Veteran defender Rigobert Song will play in a fourth World Cup tournament, having made his debut as a teenager in 1994.
The Indomitable Lions kick off their World Cup campaign on 14 June against Japan.
