Calm has returned to Kaleo, a farming community in the Nadowli District of the Upper West Region after some irate youth launched an attack on officials of the Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS).
The youth vandalized their properties worth several millions of Ghana cedis at a check point located between Kaleo and Loho.
The youth accuse the CEPS officials of complicity in the death of two prominent personalities from the Kaleo traditional area.
Joy FM’s Upper West regional correspondent Rafik Salam reported that the violence has now set off an uneasy calm in the town.
