Vice president of the Ghana Football Association , George Afriyie , is not surprised by large portions of people clamoring for the return of Kwesi Appiah as coach.
The former trainer has been made favorite to land the job he left 3 years ago after a quite unimpressive spell with Israeli Avram Grant.
With the association done with its shortlisting, only an interview stands in the way of the former Ghana captain to return to the hot seat.
Despite this, he has been touted as the red hot favourite and George Afriyie believes those calls are in place.
"I am not surprised at all, he played for Ghana, captained the Black Stars and coached the team as well," he told Asempa FM
"He is the most popular among the coaches who may have applied- he is known y Ghanaians so i am not surprised."
The new coach is set to be appointed by April.
