Dreams FC striker John Antwi is confident of securing qualification ahead of Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup tie against Zamalek.

Dreams held the 2019 champions to a goalless draw in the first leg of the semi-final contest at the Cairo International Stadium.

In a conversation with JoySports, the former Ismaily and Ah Ahly striker underscored the need to approach Sunday’s match with the seriousness it deserves.

‘‘First of all, we are not going to be complacent. We went and got a draw there and we know it (the reverse fixture) is going to be just as difficult here in Ghana. So like have always been doing, we are going back to prepare very well and meet them,’’ Antwi said.

Dreams have made the semi-final in what has been a record breaking season.

Dreams secured a remarkable draw away to Zamalek

On December 10, Dreams FC became the first Ghanaian club to win an away match in an intercontinental competition since 2004, when they beat Academica do Lobito 2-1 in Angola.

In the quarter final away to Stade Malien, Dreams repeated the trick when they beat their hosts 2-1 in Mali.

Now on the cusp of the final, Antwi who has scored five goals and two assist in the competition knows exactly what they need to do to progress.

‘‘For now I will say we are a bit ahead. I mean, going there to get the goalless draw… If we are able to win by 1-0 here, we go through. So like I said earlier, we are not going to be complacent but we will work hard sand get the win to go through to the next stage,’’ he concluded.

Meanwhile, Dreams FC have announced that Sunday’s match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium will be free of charge.

However, tickets will be sold for persons who wish to be at the VIP and VVIP sections of the stadium.
