Asante Kotoko coach Kjetil Zachariasen was full of praise for his players after their 2-0 win over Kano Pillars in the CAF Champions League on Sunday in Kumasi.
Goals from Mathew Kelvin Andoh and Emmanuel Gyamfi helped Porcupine Warriors overturn a 3-2 first-leg deficit to book their place in the first round with 4-3 aggregate victory.
“Quite happy with how the boys played tactically today. They were strong and believed.
They showed mentality and everyone that comes to play us here must follow us [our style of play must dominate] and not the other way round.
I know my guys can play so I am not surprised,” Kjetil Zachariasen told media after the match.
Kotoko will face off with Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel in the next round o the competition.
The first leg will be in Kumasi on the weekend of 13–15 September and the return leg in Sousse a fortnight later.
