Medeama coach Prince Owusu has showered his praises on his players following their 3-2 victory over TP Mazembe.
A spirited display by the Yellow and Mauves ensured a last gasp winner by Kwesi Donsu to keep their chances of making the semifinal alive.
And Owusu who was taken through the rollercoaster game was proud of his players.
“When we go offensively, they suffer a lot and they tried to play defensive game when they equalized the match. They tried to play delay tactics but it was clear that my boys wanted to go all out and get a win for us.”
“With no doubt, they are fantastic team and they played very well and the two goals that they scored was very classic and I really like the effort they showed up.”
“I told my players that, this is a very big team and I call them Africa United. It wasn’t easy but I told them to go all out and I saw in the first half that they were trying to defend and they weren’t coming in as they did in the second half.”
“When they saw that they were down by two goals, they had nothing to lose than to open up to get goals and we took advantage of that to get the last goal.” Owusu added.
Medeama must now try to get a point against Bejaia to confirm qualification.
