A university don has appealed to business executives to always equip themselves with new knowledge and techniques in order to cope with and to adapt modern dynamics of business.
Professor Seth Buatsi, Dean of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) School of Business, said as the economy was ripe and preparing to take off, there was a need for business executives to adapt to changes in the economy to enable them to succeed.
He was speaking at a management express forum and workshop on "Growing Self and Organisation", organised by the British Council and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Kumasi.
The forum was to offer opportunity to young business executives and professionals to undertake intellectual discourse on how to build and grow their businesses.
Clive Wilson, Managing Director of Primeast, UK-based organisation development consultants who was the resource person, said one of the key factors between leaders and management was that leaders must have a vision and make sure that it was translated into reality.
He said vision was the most valuable asset in business and there was the need to nurture it to achieve results.
Mr Wilson stressed the need for managers to grow their staff in the organisation and said it was the responsibility of managers to use the uniqueness of each staff member to achieve their vision.
Robert Agbozo, Kumasi Manager of the British Council, said the "management express concept" had come to stay and the Council would ensure that it was organised in every two months to update the knowledge and skills of professionals and business managers on modern trends in doing business.
He said the Council had the materials and resources that would help individuals to develop and appealed to professionals and business executives to take advantage and participate in the programmes.
